Wood Burning stoves

Well we have finally moved house and I am going to practice what I preach and run the house as green as I can!
phase 1 is almost completed, we have installed a 24kw Stratford boiler stove in our lounge which is charging up a 500litre akvaterm hermal heat-store tank, this tank is 2 metres tall and almost a metre diameter! Also going in is a fairly large solar panel which by our calculations should be capable of supplying us with all the hot water we need in the summer.
To lower the heat usage of the house we have stripped off all the ceilings and fitted 6inches of celotex insulation in the hope of lowering our future wood consumption.

Wireless Sony Bravia TV woes

posted 11 Nov 2009 15:25 by Trev Deffee

Please be aware that although sony state these TVs have incredible wireless range, we have found them less than favourable for a domestic environment, I have had two sets returned to dealer and one set is currently  showing wireless communication failures every so often, that is at a 1.5m range through a cupboard door! Do have a look at the tremendous offerings from other manufacturers, I highly recommend samsung and panasonic who in my opinion have far better digital tuners and picture quality  than the latest sony equipment.

Aerials

Over the last few months it has come to my attention that local shops have been selling 'Digital Ready' Aerials, please do check that it is the correct one for your area as they are mostly Wideband aerials which are no good for anyone receiving transmissions from the Isle of Wight (which way does your aerial point?) Brighton on the other hand would be fine! If you wish to talk to me about reception issues then I am always happy to give advice.
